I have always been confident in communication, but that doesn’t mean I got it all figured out. Business communication is different from normal ones. It shapes direct networking and marketing. In QNET business, presenting the products and business prospects can have an immense impact. In other words, communication defines one’s business. Among many things I read about direct selling and business, one important factor no authors missed to mention was communication.
I used the early days in business to improve my presentation skills in business. I started from the understanding that there’s a lot more to develop, and the way I communicate will be the way people see my business. Without a doubt, the initiative to learn does pay off. To be able to articulate or express the ideas clearly is a talent. However, not everyone has this talent or confident in it. The good news is, developing communication skill is totally possible with training and practices.
What are the importance of communication skills?

Confidence: Being good in communication has its perks, and one of them is confidence. It is significant in the business journey to be confident. Customers and team members will always look up to confident people. The ability to express one’s view clearly can give them confidence. Working as a direct seller will make a person good at communication.
Create interest: If a person is good at articulating ideas, they can create curiosity in the listener. That is exactly the purpose of business communication. In marketing and networking, one can win big if they can create interest in people through words. Communication skills is also closely connected with skills such as interpersonal, marketing and networking.
Direct marketing: It is always a good idea to use the method of direct marketing with online marketing. In direct selling, a person chooses to pick either one or both. In my experience, it is always a good idea to have in-person marketing because the trust and loyalty of customers from direct marketing is unmatchable to any other medium. For direct marketing, oral communication is so important. So, if you use face-to-face and online marketing, then developing written and oral communication is important.
Negotiations: In business, discussion and coming to mutually beneficial conclusions happen often. Whether it’s related to product sales or business networks, negotiations are necessary to keep the business going. To keep one’s business winning, even with some adjustment, require an excellent ability to communicate and convince people.
How to improve communication skills?
Communication is a skill or talent a person can develop by training and learning. This skills will be an absolute blessing in every career and fields. There are number of ways to improve the ability to speak good and influence better. I will mention a few ways that I tried to develop my communication skills.
Read daily
Reading can considerably improve communication. There are plenty of books available on network business and business communication. Or, even general reading can help one by giving a way with the words. Make reading a daily habit; knowledge and confidence from reading are directly connected to better communication.
Learn from the team

In the first few months, I went to the marketing meetings and general presentations with my team members. It is a good idea to learn from people. Mentors can be a great aid in developing communication. These individuals have plenty of experience; their advice and testimonies gave me enough insights into what not to do during marketing. If a person is willing to learn and observe, there’s much space for them to grow in the direct selling business.
Practice, Practice and Practice
What makes a person expert or the best in their respective fields? Without a doubt, the answer is practice. The more a person practices, it makes them better and better. So, if one wants to improve communication, then go ahead and practice it. There are plenty of ways to practice speaking. Please spend a few minutes daily to practice communication, and the result will be noticeable in weeks itself.
Take online courses
There are hundreds of courses online available on business communication. Anybody can take these courses at flexible timings with absolutely no cost. Using such sources can mold a person into the best of them. An effective and successful business person will always have something more to learn. Go through the courses and contents and take one that can help the best.
Learnt more about the industry
The more I learned about the direct selling industry, QNET products, services and networks, the better I could present it to people. Similarly, the knowledge about the customers and their preferences would help. Knowledge is the gamechanger in all areas of business, so does communication.
These are the few steps I took to develop communication skills and boost my confidence. It certainly did work out in my favor. Taking courses to learn from other fellow business owners are wholesome ways to improve oneself. Development in communication is part of both personal and professional development. So, communication can come in handy and be helpful in all areas of life.
